Regardless of their level or dedication, we have something for everyone

Primary Division (Ages 3-7)

  • The joy of dance begins with our Early Education classes. We introduce young children to the elements of dance in an exciting and engaging environment while carefully planning and preparing the young dancer for Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance. As part of the Ormond Ballet family, your child will learn much more than movement. We reinforce the important life skills of creativity, discipline, and problem-solving—all in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.

  • This class is designed to help students define, comprehend, and explore dance concepts and terms. The students will develop an understanding of the elements of dance and locomotor and nonlocomotor skills through guided exploration and improvisation.

  • The young dancer will begin to explore the basic fundamentals of classical ballet technique, while keeping the class moving and enjoyable. The exercises develop posture and balance, strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Pre-Professional Lower School Division (ages 8-13)

  • The Lower School at Ormond Ballet builds the foundations of knowledge, understanding and passion for the elementary concepts of dance. We study classical ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance techniques. In particular, our ballet classes are based on the Vaganonva Method.

  • Our Classical Ballet Program follows the Vaganova Method Syllabus. Dancers will gain the understanding of proper alignment, pelvis placement, and use of turnout, while building the necessary strength and flexibility in their legs and back. Pointe work begins in their last semester of level 2. *All promotions are at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

  • Dancers will focus on roll downs, spirals, swings, basic floor work, and elemental concepts of space, time, and force. They will also build core strength and flexibility in a fun and encouraging environment. *All promotions are at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

  • Our classes will introduce the fundamentals of jazz dance by taking them through different stretches, warm-up, across the floor exercises progressions, and center combinations with age-appropriate music. *All promotions are at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

Pre-Professional Upper School Division (Ages 13-18+)

  • The Upper School Division is unique in that each dancer is provided with individual attention, college and career guidance, along with their daily instruction in technique, pointe, variations, partnering and other various classes designed to support their individual goals. This program reinforces the dancer's knowledge passion, and understanding of the art form through the pursuit of the art and science of dance.

  • Our Classical Ballet Program follows the Vaganova Method Syllabus. Dancers will gain the understanding of proper alignment, pelvis placement, and use of turnout, while building the necessary strength and flexibility in their legs and back. Class work and Pointe work advance in difficulty and tempo along with length and quantity. Artistry is drawn out and developed. *All promotions are at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

  • Dancers will focus on concepts like suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, along with various methods of improvisation. *All promotions are at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

  • Dancers working in the advanced level will focus on turns, jumps, and floorwork.  Continued emphasis on strength and use of transitions.  Working on flexibility and control for more advanced combinations and technique. *All promotions are at the discretion of the Artistic Director.
