Adult Ballet

It is never too late to take your first ballet class.

Our Adult Ballet program welcomes complete beginners, former dancers returning after years away, and anyone who has always wanted to experience ballet in a supportive, respectful environment. Every class is taught with the understanding that adult dancers bring different goals, different life experiences, and different bodies to the studio.

Our approach emphasizes thoughtful progression, sound technical foundations, and an appreciation for ballet as both a discipline and an art form. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings. Now offering Beginning Adult Ballet, followed by Intermediate Adult Ballet.

Drop-in for a single class or enroll for the semester. No audition, no placement, and no traditional dance attire required, just come ready to learn.

Foundations in Dance

Foundations in Dance introduces young children to the joy of movement while laying the groundwork for a lifetime of learning. Through music, imagination, creative exploration, and age-appropriate instruction, students begin developing coordination, musicality, confidence, and focus that support future dance training.

Each class is thoughtfully designed to meet children at their stage of development while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a growing appreciation for movement as both an art and a form of expression. As students progress through Creative Movement, Dance Exploration, and Pre-Ballet, they build the physical and artistic foundations that prepare them for formal dance training.

Professional Training

The Developing Artists and Emerging Artists programs form the core of Ormond Ballet's comprehensive dance education. Designed for students ready to deepen their commitment to dance, the curriculum follows a carefully sequenced course of study.

Training takes place in a supportive yet challenging environment where individual attention, thoughtful coaching, and high expectations encourage every student to reach their fullest potential. As dancers progress, they develop technical proficiency, confidence, curiosity, discipline, and the independence essential to artistic growth.

Performance is an essential part of the educational experience. Students perform in full-length productions and pursue workshops, summer intensives, competitions, and auditions as their goals evolve. Those continuing their dance education beyond high school receive individualized guidance through the university, conservatory, and professional audition process. Whether their future leads to a professional career, teaching, or a lifelong engagement with the arts, our goal remains the same: to develop artists, leaders, and lifelong learners.
